5 ways to save on transport
So, it's been a while since my last post with money saving tips so I thought it was finally about time!
Now we all know that transport costs an absolute fortune, whether you go by car or choose public transport, I mean I remember paying £1.80 on the bus just for a 15 minute drive. Ridiculous!
Here I'll give you some tips on how to save on transport costs.
Enjoy! x
Tip number 1
Whenever you first sign up with Uber, if you have a unique code, you can get £15 off your first ride with no minimum spend! Furthermore, if you give your unique code to somebody else and they use it, you get money off future purchases too!
As I don't have the app, here's Latest Free Stuff's code for your free £15: LFSUBER
Tip number 2
If you regularly commute by train it might be worth getting a railway card. There are loads available depending on what region of the country you're from, but they're easily found on their website.
As an example, I've listed the railway cards that South West Trains offer:
Note: It's worth paying full price for a normal ticket rather than a railcard. These are only worthwhile if you travel by train regularly!
Tip number 3
Similarly, there are also coachcards, however these aren't as well known.
They offer 1/3 off normal prices and varying discounts towards events and festivals.
The National Express, for examples has these available:
- Young persons coachcards (16-26)
- Senior coachcard (60+)
- Family coachcard << particularly good as it's cheaper than the other cards and kids travel free with one full paying adult!
Tip number 4
ParkMe is an app that works internationally to provide you with details of nearby parking spots. You just type the place you're in and then can filter results based on popularity, price or distance.
This way you can pick the cheapest parking places or go to the nearest one to save fuel!
Tip number 5
Check the places near you with the best fuel prices at PetrolPrices. We can't change the fact fuel is very expensive but at least we can pick the cheapest of the lot!
Hope this helps, I have more tips which I will probably write in another post so stay tuned!
