Graze Box Review

This will be my first review (and hopefully one of many) which will tell you what I thought about the 2015 Autumn Graze Box.

I was planning to show you all my ugly face and doing an unboxing video but I had some camera issues but I hope you'll enjoy reading this nonetheless.

I contacted Graze asking if there was a possibility to review or have a sample of some of their products despite not having paypal, a credit or debit card.

To my surprise they said yes and it arrived shortly after (I've just been busy so it's taken a while to review).

As you can see, the Graze Boxes contain 4 snacks, all sealed in handy little punnets. Perfect for carrying in a handbag or having at work etc.

Although not shown in the picture above, in the box you get a little letter that just says welcome and gives a code for new subscribers to get their 1st, 5th and 10th box free. On the back of this, all the products were listed with their nutritional information per 100g and per punnet.

[The writing wasn't clear when I tried to take a picture, but my code is: AMYT4RKKB if any of you are interested].

Nutritional note: These olives are 108 calories but fairly salty.

The first snack in my box was the new "Moroccan Harissa pitted beldi olives." I'm not the biggest fan of olives so I passed these on to my friend and asked her what she thought. My first impressions of the product was that there was quite a lot of oil in the packet, slightly surprised that it didn't run out during its delivery but that just shows how well the snacks are sealed, right?!

My friend said that she found the olive pick-stick a nice little extra detail and definitely came in useful! She wasn't aware of the flavour combination previously- she normally ate her olives with basil and garlic or parsley (that kind of thing) but said that it made a nice change. Similar to me she thought that the olives were surrounded a little too much in the oil but she said the olives were great: juicy and "fleshy."

Nutritional note: Not many calories considering the size (239) and less fat than I expected from a flapjack (15g).

My second little snack was a "Lemon curd flapjack." I shared this with my brother because I loved it so much I had to share the hype with somebody else. First observations were that it was a very generous size; you can't really see it but it's very thick as well and as flapjack's are naturally very compressed we both had a fair share. First impressions of the product were amazing, took off the seal and there was just an incredible waft of lemon; just smelt so appealing (you'll have to taste it to find out ;) )

When I tried it unsuprisingly the lemon was very strong, I was happy to discover that this wasn't because of any zest pieces but that lemon curd must've been put in the mixture with the oats. The flapjack itself wasn't overly greasy which was nice to see but I would've liked to have a thicker layer of yoghurt on the top because I simply couldn't taste it. In fact, it was only when I re-read the description that I realised what it was meant to be.

Nutritional note: A lot more fat than I expected (6.8g) but less salt than I thought (0.55g).

Next up were the "Sesame Garlic Chrunch" snacks. These contained garlic sesame sticks, oat bran sesame sticks and multigrain soy crackers.

Talking first about the sticks; maybe I have rubbish taste buds and eyesight but I couldn't really taste any difference or see any differences between the sticks.

(Upon looing at the ingredients I found that the only ingredients that varied were one had dried garlic and the other had oats so I think it's safe to say the oat sticks were slightly bland if I couldn't test the main ingredient.)

I found the sticks fairly dry but I imagine that had I had some dips with me they'd have been much tastier, maybe hummus?

The crackers tasted better, less dry and more even in size and gave a longer lasting taste of sesame. There were only 4 and a quarter crackers in my pack but I think they're good enough to be in their own punnet as they were by far the better product out of these assortments!

Nutritional note: I was surprised it was only 130 calories as the chocolate seems rather heavy but then I saw there was 7g of total fat so no longer surprised!

These smalls toasts were joint first best snack in this box (with the flapjack). I absolutely adored this! It's such a clever idea to start with and a brilliant combination of flavours too. There was no particular smell when I opened the punnet so I assumed there'd be no taste either but smelling the toasts and then of course tasting them, there definitely is a hint of blueberry. The toasts taste nice and were very crunchy, didn't taste at all like brown bread despite their appearance.

The blueberry was a sly taste but once dipped in the chocolate became unnoticeable. Has to be said though that the white chocolate was of an amazing quality, very rich, smooth, filling and lasting too (not forgetting the small hint of vanilla). I must admit I did actually finish the toast off quickly just so I could scoop the chocolate out by itself.

My only criticism would probably be to put some more chocolate in. On the picture it looks fill to the brim but this is because most of it had just "glued" itself to the seal during the delivery journey; there wasn't actually a large quantity inside.

Nevertheless I found it delicious and give it a 10/10!

That's all for today, hope you enjoyed this review.

See you soon for the next one.
