The book and art lovers' guide to Valentines

Hello everyone!

So very soon it's that time of the year again where the couples treat each other and the single people watch movies and treat themselves to chocolate! (Or was that just me)?

In case you're still searching for ideas, I've done some research for you and have accumulated my favourites into the perfect guide of budget-friendly gifts for any book or art lovers.

By Carissa Potter

I love this book because artist Carissa has filled the book with illustrations and quotes of her views on relationships and symbols of romanticism but with a hint of comedy in it too!

This would be a great gift for somebody who is fond of art, quotes and has a sense of humour but also if you can sometimes struggle expressing yourself in words, this book does it all for you!

Cost: £8.99

By Lisa Swerling and Ralph Lazar

"Happiness is" a series of products full of sweet but simple illustrations.

In this Valentines version released only in 2016, Lisa and Ralph fill the book with illustrations to "celebrate all the extraordinary little moments that make up true love."

Just flicking through, it presents the reader with all those moments with love in relationships, even to the most mundane things. Things like "being in sync" or "one glass, two straws" etc.

It's a lovely little thing to flick through with your partner and chuckle about as you relate to every single thing!

Cost: £8.99

By the San Francisco Writers' Grotto

This mini journal is the perfect guide to expressing your feelings for your loved one. With different, but empty formats on each page, it offers you the chance to write how you feel and those small things you love about them. Headings such as "The time I got fantastic news and you..." or "That story you always forget that you already told me..."

It's a great way to show your love and gives your partner a good old reading session once you're done. I think it's a great idea!

Cost: £6.99

By Abrams Noterie and Paramount pictures

Inspired by the movie, these notebooks are great for any Breakfast at Tiffany's fan but also for somebody who loves writing.

The notebook's cover each contains features of the scene: Holly's sleep mask, cat eye sunglasses, lipstick and perfume!

It also comes in three designs: one with squares, one with plain pages and another with lined pages so it's perfect for artists too!

Put a sweet little note into the first page of one of them and you have your thoughtful but glamorous Valentine's gift!

Cost: £9.99

Matterhorn, Nicole Regina Hunziker © www.lumas.co.uk

If you're searching for some home deco or some beautiful art then these framed pictures from LUMAS are perfect.

This example piece titled "Matterhorn," is absolutely gorgeous and fits perfectly on a night table as well as having a built in magnet and hanging hook so that you can display it wherever you like.

These particular frames are 13 by 13 cm but are photographic or illustration prints so they are of very high quality and are mounted under acrylic glass for that final glossy touch.

Cost: £24

Hope you all have a good Valentines!
